2007 AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL FUTSAL CHAMPIONSHIPS SET TO BEGIN


The 28th Australian National Futsal Championships will begin early next week Monday the 8th of January 2007.

The opening ceremony will commence at 5.00pm at the AIS with Craig Foster (former Socceroo) to officially open the event.

A number of curtain raiser games will follow the ceremony including the ACT Youth mens opening match against the NSW Thunder at 6.30pm.

Other games to be played on this day will include teams from the open women, under 11 boys, and under 13 girls categories.

ACT teams will be able to assist the media by providing various photo and interview opportunities throughout training sessions this weekend:

The Open Men Cobras will have a practice match against the Youth Mens at the AIS Main Arena from 5.30pm on Friday the 5th of January.

The ACT under 23’s Men will also play the Mens Cobras team in a pre-tournament trial match on Sunday the 7th from 6 - 8pm at the Tuggeranong Basketball Stadium.

The under 12 girls will train on Saturday the 6th from 4.30 - 6pm at the Woden Basketball Stadium.

The local media contact person is Alex Freeman from Futsal ACT and will be present at the AIS from 4.30pm on Monday the 8th to help assist various media operations.
