AFC Futsal Championship qualifiers in March

KUALA LUMPUR: Eleven teams will fight it out in the AFC Futsal Championship 2007 qualifiers in the Chinese Taipei city of Taipei Xinzhuang for a place in the tournament proper which will take place in Japan from May 13-19 later this year.


Two places are up for grabs in the qualifying round which runs through March 1-5. The teams will be divided into two groups of six and five teams each and play against each other once with the top two teams from each group qualifying for the main competition.


Twelve teams – defending champions and hosts Japan, Uzbekistan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Australia, China PR, Hong Kong, Kuwait, Malaysia, Tajikistan, Thailand and Turkmenistan – have qualified automatically for the Finals.


QUALIFYING ROUND GROUPS

Group A: 1. Lebanon, 2. Chinese Taipei, 3. Cambodia, 4. Maldives, 5. Guam,6. The Philippines

Group B: 1. Iraq, 2. Indonesia, 3. Korea Republic, 4. Macau 5. Myanmar
