Guatemala travels to Cuba for Futsal Tournament

31.1.07 - Guatemala will travel to Pinar del Río, Cuba to compete in a four-team Futsal Tournament at the Sala 19 de Noviembre Arena from 5-10 February.

The quadrangular event begins on 5 February with Guatemala taking on a Cuban Select B squad at 17:00 and then the hosts Cuba faces Pinar del Río team at 18:30.

The next day, Cuba takes on the Select B squad at 17:00 and then Guatemala plays against Pinar del Río team at 18:30.

The opening round concludes on 7 February, with Pinar del Río team against the Cuban Select B squad at 17:00 and then Guatemala takes on Cuba at 18:30.

The tournament’s semifinals and finals will take place on 9 and 10 February, respectively.

After the tournament in Cuba, Guatemala is scheduled to hosts Costa Rica and Panama at the 2007 CONCACAF Pan American Games Futsal Qualification in Guatemala City from 9-11 March.

The two teams progressing from the triangular along with the CONCACAF Futsal Champion and Runner-up, USA and Cuba, respectively, will compete with four CONMEBOL squads in the inaugural Futsal Tournament at the Pan American Games.
