Clubs prepare for Futsal kick-off

Eight eircom League clubs have entered teams in the 2007 FAI Under-21 Futsal tournament, which starts with a familiarization day today (Saturday) before officially getting under way with the first round of matches next weekend.

Dublin quartet Shamrock Rovers, St Patrick’s Athletic, Bohemians and UCD will all be taking part in the tournament, which runs to April 21st next.

County Louth duo Dundalk and Drogheda United are also in contention, while the octet is completed by Bray Wanderers and Monaghan United.

Games, which last 40 minutes in total, will take place at the National Basketball Arena, Dublin City University and IT Blanchardstown.

Rovers and St Pars meet in this afternoon’s familiarization fixtures at the National Basketball Arena, while next Saturday’s first round of fixtures include the Louth derby between Drogheda and Dundalk.
