Futsal draw during league classic

The UEFA Futsal Cup semi-final draw will take place on Saturday 10 March - at half-time of the league encounter between the two Spanish contenders, El Pozo Murcia FS and Boomerang Interviú.

Final four hosts Murcia and holders Boomerang will be in the pot alongside 2004/05 winners Action 21 Charleroi and MFK Dinamo Moskva, beaten in the last two finals over two legs. This time the tournament is decided in a one-off event, with the semis on 26 April at 18.30 and 21.00CET - the latter involving Murcia - and the third-place match and final two days later at 17.00 and 19.00 respectively. All games are to take place in the 7,500-capacity Palacio de los Deportes, where Murcia will welcome Boomerang for the domestic fixture. For the first time, the four decisive UEFA Futsal Cup ties will be shown live by Eurosport.

Spanish title race
Boomerang lead Murcia by two points at the top of the Spanish table, their league game in Madrid having finished 3-3 in October. Their positions make them favourites to reach the play-offs for the national title at the end of the season, when the top eight teams participate in a knockout event. Spain has dominated the UEFA Futsal Cup, with Playas de Castellón winning the inaugural editions in 2001/02 and 2002/03, and Boomerang succeeding in 2003/04 and last term.
