Rebecca will represent Oz in futsal

THIRTEEN-year-old Rebecca Berry has been selected to represent Australia in the coming Vikings Futsal tour of New Zealand.

Rebecca began playing Futsal last year at the Bendigo Vikings Club and she has also trialled for the Futsal Academy in Melbourne.

Futsal is an abbreviation of the Portuguese phrase Futebol de Salon, which translated in English means football in a large room.

In the country network there are teams based in the major cities of Bendigo, Ballarat, Geelong. Wodonga and Shepparton with more groups being formed at smaller centres around the state.

The Bendigo Vikings Futsal Club is part of the nationwide network, which originally started in Queensland in 1998.
