Guatemala opens CONCACAF Pan Am Futsal Qualification with victory

7.3.07 - The hosts, Guatemala opened 2007 CONCACAF Pan American Games Futsal Qualification with a 12:3 victory over Panama at the Domo Polideportivo in Guatemala City on Wednesday evening.
The crowd of 3,500 saw Erick Acevedo and Manuel Adrian Aristondo score three times each to lead Guatemala (1-0-0, 3 Points) to the win over Panama (0-1-0, 0 Points).

The triangular continues at the Domo Polideportivo on Thursday as Costa Rica (0-0-0, 0 Points) takes on Panama at 19:00. The event concludes on Friday when Guatemala greets Costa Rica at 19:00.

The two teams progressing from the triangular along with the CONCACAF Futsal Champion and Runner-up, USA and Cuba, respectively, will compete with four CONMEBOL squads in the inaugural Futsal Tournament at the Pan American Games.
