World United FC Invited to Fourth World Club Championship in Portugal, Seeking Sponsorship

SAN FRANCISCO (3-9-07) - World United Futsal Club of San Francisco has been invited to take part in the Fourth World Club Championsip in Portimao, Portugal April 4-8 and has launched a campaign to secure corporate sponsorship.

World United will be facing the greatest Futsal clubs in the world, including Taiho Bann Futsal of Japan, Sport Lisboa e Benfica and Sporting Clube de Portugal, both of Portugal, Dínamo Moscow of Russia, Boomerang Interviu of Spain, and Carlos Barbosa FC and Malwee FC, both of Brazil. World United qualified by winning U.S. Futsal's National Men's Championship

General Manager Mario Salinas noted that Futsal is one of the fastest growing sports in the world and is the only indoor sport sanctioned by FIFA, the world governing body of soccer, which means the sponsoring companies "would be associated with a sport that has tremendous momentum and is capturing thousands of followers daily."

World United has won six of the last ten U.S. Futsal National Championships, and no other men's Futsal team has won more national, regional and state titles in the U.S.

Salinas said he expects that media coverage associated with this tournament "will be extensive, ranging from televised matches to press coverage in the leading media outlets in Portugal, Spain, Brazil, Russia and Japan."
