CONCACAF.comCosta Rica wins CONCACAF Pan Am Futsal Qualification9.3.07 - Costa Rica won the 2007 CONCACAF Pan American Games Futsal Qualification after defeating the hosts, Guatemala, by a score of 4:2 in the final match of the triangular, that also included Panama, at the Domo Polideportivo in Guatemala City on Friday evening.
Yefrid Ruiz scored twice and Danny Aguilar and Junior Rodriguez added another for Costa Rica (2-0-0, 6 Points), while Erick Coronado and Oliver Lopez had the only goals for Guatemala (1-1-0, 3 Points) in the loss.
The ticos and chapines also progressed to the inaugural Futsal Tournament at the 2007 Pan American Games in Brazil from 13-29 July.
Costa Rica and Guatemala join CONCACAF Futsal Champion and Runner-up, USA and Cuba, respectively, along with four CONMEBOL squads at the eight-team tournament at the 2007 Pan American Games.
