Under-16 Hidup Futsal carnival to kick off on April 15

PETALING JAYA: The Milo Hidup Bola Futsal carnival is back and this time it will be an Under-16 event.

The championship will be played over 14 legs in all states beginning in Kuala Lumpur on April 15 to the Grand Finals scheduled at the Ampang Sports Planet on July 22.

A total of 32 teams would qualify for the Grand Finals and stand to win the champion prize money of RM5,000, runner-up RM3,000, third RM2,000, fourth RM1,000 and the fifth to eighth placed teams will win medals

The inaugural championship attracted 1008 teams for the Under-21 boys last year.

The other legs include: Malacca (April 21), Negri Sembilan (April 28), Sabah (May 5), Sarawak (May 12), Selangor (May 20), Johor (May 26), Perlis (June 2), Kedah (June 9), Penang (June 16), Perak (June 23), Kelantan (June 30), Terengganu (July 7), Pahang (July 15) and the Grand Finals at the Ampang Sport Planet on July 22.

Team manager of the national futsal team Hamidin Mohd Amin and Ajoy Titus, Business executive manager, coffee and beverages business unit of Nestle Products were at the launch of the event held at the Bukit Jalil Sports School on Saturday.

"The event is yet another initiative by Milo to develop the game at grassroots," said Hamidin.
