Bohs meet Rovers U21 in Tallaght

Shamrock Rovers and Bohemians will go head-to-head in the eircom League of Ireland Under-21 Futsal League on Sunday - the first time the Dublin rivals have met in Tallaght.

With Rovers continuing their efforts to relocate to the south Dublin suburb, there will be huge interest as these great rivals compete against each other for the first time in the area.

The National Basketball Arena will play host to Futsal’s version of Ireland’s biggest football derby, with kick-off scheduled for 2.30pm

Sunday’s fixture is the first time the two clubs have met in the exciting new Futsal League, which has been an enormous success since it was launched earlier this year.

Now entering into week five of the competition, Bohs and Rovers are in second and third place respectively, adding an extra edge to what will already be a fantastic occasion for both clubs.

A big crowd will be in attendance, entry to Futsal League games is free, as Rovers and Bohs aim to knock Bray Wanderers from the top of the Futsal League table.



Bray have been in phenomenal form since the competition began and are unbeaten so far. They taken on a Monaghan United side still looking to register their first point in the competition.

There are just three rounds of games remaining before the top four teams play-off for the right to represent Ireland in the UEFA Futsal Cup in September.

The sixteen Futsal fixtures to have been played so far have yielded an incredible 191 goals - averaging at 12 goals per game.

Ciaran Kilduff of Shamrock Rovers tops the scoring charts, with 15 goals in four games, followed by David O’Sullivan of Bray Wanderers on 10 goals.


The Under-21 Futsal League is in its first season and is set to expand over the next number of years.

As well as expanding the league, the FAI also hope to assemble a squad to represent Ireland at international Futsal competitions.
