Boomerang Interviú have stated their intent to be crowned kings of Europe after defeating their UEFA Futsal Cup semi-final opponents El Pozo Murcia FS to win the Spanish Futsal Cup.

Lugo stage
The Green Machine were 8-4 winners in the 2007 Copa de España showpiece match at the Pazo Dos Deportes in Lugo. Jesús Candelas' team, who were 6-0 winners against Carnicer Torrejón FS in the last four on Saturday, took the lead 26 seconds into the match and always had the edge on a Murcia side who had experienced a trickier last-four encounter against MRA Navarra FS, edging it 5-3.

Intriguing contest
The final was always going to be an intriguing contest especially as the clubs had drawn 3-3 in a league encounter the previous week. Daniel fired Boomerang in front inside the first minute but Murcia twice equalised to ensure it was 3-3 at the break. The reigning European champions stepped up a gear in the second half with Gabriel, who scored twice, Marquinho, Daniel again and goalkeeper Luis Amado on target.

Praise offered
Boomerang, the reigning UEFA Futsal Cup holders and two-time winners, have now won the domestic cup six times, three of those triumphs coming in the past four seasons. Candelas said: "First of all I want to congratulate El Pozo because when we were 3-1 up we thought the match was ours, but they equalised before the break. We were eager to win such an important title as the cup after we failed to do so last season."

Brave face
Murcia coach Duda put on a brave face in defeat. "We hope that with this result Boomerang feel overconfident for the UEFA Futsal Cup. We made too many mistakes and you can't do that against Boomerang because they're the best team in futsal history and it's always tough to play them." The chance for revenge will come when Murcia host the UEFA Futsal Cup final four, with the semi-final meeting of Spain's finest coming on 26 April.
