During the past weeks some european futsal portal published, as something sure and official (!), reports about a supposed first edition of the European Champs for Under 21 category teams.

Though is a long time that this matter is discussed by UEFA and national FAs, the creation of such a competition is still to be confirmed and made official by UEFA.

We have to remind that the Executive Committee should take a final decision just on next April, so nothing can be considered as official before that meeting. Is therefore to be still "suspended" the name of the country that will host the competition as well, as that decision will be discussed and taken just after and if the UEFA Executive Committee approve of the tournament introduction.

No reasons to deny, anyway, that the idea is to introduce the youth futsal competition into the UEFA events, but the real hope is that National FAs will not interprete this "new entry" just as a way to increase their prizewinners showcase rather as a way to give a real and definitive impulse to the development of youth futsal, what continental futsal is missing in a dramatic way.
