Brennan then produced a powerful strike that was deflected past goalkeeper Darragh Moore to stamp home United’s authority then added his hat-trick three minutes before half-time.
The second half started as a far tighter affair and it was eight minutes before a goal was scored; Adam Crowther pulling one back for the Saints.

Derby match produced some great goalkeeping and exciting actionMonday, 19 March 2007Bohemians (1) 4 - 3 Shamrock Rovers (1)
BOHEMIANS took the spoils in a thrilling derby clash with Shamrock Rovers in one of the best games so far in the FAI eircom under-21 Futsal League.
As in any typical Dublin derby, there was very little to separate these two great rivals early on at the National Basketball Arena.
Alan Lynch finally broke the deadlock for Bohs with a neat finish from a tight angle in the 11th minute.
Both goalkeepers had made a number of impressive saves before that opener. Then Bohs were denied a second when Michael Mooney struck the crossbar.
Rovers were equally unlucky with five minutes left when Mark Langtry showed great skill to create an opening only to see his strike rattle Keith Gallagher’s left post.
Hoops keeper John Perkins made some brilliant saves to deny Cillian
O’Grady, Lynch and then Ciaran Tracey as the seconds ticked down towards half-time.
After all the good work by the Gypsies, they ended up conceding an equaliser four seconds before the break when Ciaran Kilduff rifled home a ten-metre penalty.
Perkins continued his heroics early in the second half when he made a stunning double-save to deny Tracey and Brian Kelly then Lynch hit an upright with a low strike.
Lynch was then a hero at the other end when he cleared off the line after Stephen Donegan rounded goalkeeper Gallagher.
From the counter-attack Lynch set up Phil McDonagh to slot home for 2-1 and then good work by Michael Mooney saw Ian Byrne make it 3-1 from close range.
Langtry cut that lead with a fine strike with 11 minutes left to make sure Bohs could not rest on the laurels.
Within 30 seconds the Hoops had drawn level thanks to a cracking drive by Kilduff.
They were then unlucky not to take the lead when Gallagher made two
excellent stops to keep out low strikes by Dane Massey.
Bohs promptly broke down the other end and Daniel Egan produced a neat finish to put his side back in front.
Gallagher had to show bravery and great reactions to keep out a number of Rovers attacks as the final siren drew ever closer.
With 27 seconds left on the clock Gallagher made perhaps the most important save of the game when he denied Massey in a one-on-one situation.
Kilduff was then denied with only eight seconds remaining, his low strike clipping the Bohs post.

McDonagh, Alan Lynch, Daniel Egan. Goals: Lynch, McDonagh, Byrne,

BRAY WANDERERS maintained their place at the top of the FAI eircom under-21 League with a hard-fought victory over Monaghan United at the National Basketball Arena.
Wanderers grabbed an early lead thanks to a close range finish by Jack Douglas.
Unfortunately for Douglas his afternoon came to an early end when he was dismissed for pulling back Fintan Galligan in a last-man situation.
In Futsal, a player sent-off cannot return to the action but he may be replaced after two minutes have elapsed.
Monaghan drew level a minute later when Khaild Hussein’s back flick set up Dermot Malone to fire home and Sean Fitzgerald came on to bring Bray back up to five players.
Fitzgerald had an immediate intervention when he restored Bray’s lead 40 seconds later.
Galligan then showed good composure to produce another leveller for Monaghan but Niall Merriman restored Bray’s advantage just before half-time.
After a tight start to the second half, David O’Sullivan finally stretched Bray’s lead with 12 minutes left.
Hussein gave Monaghan hope with a low strike with six minutes left on the clock but Bray responded immediately with Merriman and O’Sullivan each finding the target.
United weren’t finished yet though and Malone produced a lovely left-footed effort to pull the score back to 6-4 with three minutes remaining.

Jack Douglas, David O’Sullivan, John Meagher, John Broderick. Goals:
Douglas, Fitzgerald, Merriman 2, O’Sullivan 2.

ADAM CROWTHER was the four goal hero as St Patrick’s Athletic recorded their second win of the FAI eircom under-21 Futsal League against Dundalk.
Crowther grabbed the game’s first strike when he knocked home from close range in the fourth minute but the lead lasted only 20 seconds as Barry Woods levelled.
Crowther then produced a clever finish from a tight angle to put the Saints back in front and then went on to complete his hat-trick in the 12th minute.
Nigel Pearson extended that lead to 4-1 in the 15th minute as the Saints continued to press home their advantage and Joey Hayden made it 5-1 not long afterwards.
Pearson extended that lead to 6-1 two minutes before the break and Hayden got his second of the day within 30 seconds.
Woods gave the Lilywhites a little cheer when he got the first score of the second half and Stefan McKevitt produced an absolutely stunning strike to peg it back to 7-3.
McKevitt cut the Saints lead to three with just over 12 minutes left to maintain Dundalk’s remarkable start to the second half.
The Saints finally found the net for the eighth time with eight minutes left on the clock after Adam El Fridah led a break and slotted under keeper Donal Greene.
McKevitt responded with another blistering strike, this time smashing home a free-kick from 12 metres out. He had earlier rattled the crossbar with a smashing effort.
Woods then grabbed his hat-trick goal with just over three minutes left to continue Dundalk’s comeback and take the scores to 8-6.

UCD make it three out of four at Drogheda's expense in FutsalSaturday, 10 March 2007 UCD (2) 6 - 4 Drogheda Utd (1)
UCD grabbed their third win in four games to join Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers on nine points after a tight game against Drogheda United at the National Basketball Arena.
Greg Bolger gave the Students an early lead but after showing great patience Drogheda were rewarded with an equaliser through an Aaron Timmons blast in the 12th minute.
Timmons was unlucky not to grab his second two minutes later when he flicked the ball against the UCD crossbar from close range.
UCD eventually did retake the lead with three minutes left in the half, Darren Forsyth scoring from close range.
The Students got off to an excellent start after the break with Eoin
O’Cinneide and Tim Purcell each grabbing a goal in the opening three minutes of the half.
Timmons pulled the deficit back to two with a snap finish with seven minutes left and 20 seconds later he arrived to flick home from a Paul Matondo cross to make it 4-3.
Bolger hit a post for UCD then Gareth Whelan also struck an upright from a ten-metre penalty as the clock wound down. Bolger then went on to have a ten-metre penalty saved.
But Bolger turned things around for himself when he linked up with Purcell to make it 5-3 with 90 seconds left. Whelan then buried a ten-metre penalty to make it 5-4.
Bolger completed his hat-trick with a conventional penalty after a sliding tackle by Whelan in the Drogheda area to put UCD 6-4 ahead with 50 seconds remaining on the clock.

Philip McDonagh opened the scoring with a low strike in the fourth minute then Ian Byrne produced a similar finish a minute later to extend the Bohs lead.
Brian Kelly made it 3-0 within 30 seconds to really put Monaghan under the cosh but Shane Reavey kept them in touch with an angled strike.
Sarto Quigley’s deflected drive in the sixth minute reduced the deficit further to really liven up proceedings.
Monaghan goalkeeper Ronan McGann then made a big play for his side when he saved a penalty by Cillian O’Grady but he could do little to prevent Denis Moran making it 4-2 in the 11th minute.
Great skill by Alan Lynch produced a simple tap-in finish for Sean Trout to push the Gypsies 5-2 ahead and Kelly increased that lead soon after.
After a tight start to the second half, Monaghan cut the Bohs lead once more when Niall Flynn fired into the roof of the net from close range.
Trout restored the Bohs lead with a well struck effort from ten yards to make it 7-3 then he added another for his hat-trick after brilliant play by Lynch.

Bray Wanderers inflict first Futsal defeat on Shamrock RoversSaturday, 10 March 2007Bray Wanderers (1) 5 – 4 Shamrock Rovers (1)
BRAY WANDERERS moved top of the FAI eircom under-21 Futsal League with a nail-biting victory over previously unbeaten Shamrock Rovers today.
Four goals by Gary McCabe proved to be the difference on the day as
Wanderers bounced back from 3-1 down to clinch the three points and maintain their own unbeaten record.
David O’Sullivan was desperately unlucky not to break the deadlock in the 13th minute when he hit first the crossbar and then the upright in the same frantic attack.
O’Sullivan finally grabbed the game’s opening goal in the 17th minute after a slick one-two with Gary McCabe followed by a neat finish under goalkeeper John Perkins.
Rovers did not take long to carve out an equaliser with the league’s top scorer Ciaran Kilduff cutting in from the right to squeeze home an effort with his left foot.
Two minutes into the second half Kilduff turned provider with a nice bit of skill to set up Dane Massey to tuck in from close range and a minute later the same combination made it 3-1.
Bray got back into it after goalkeeper John Perkins was penalised for holding onto the ball for more than four seconds. Gary McCabe’s free kick went in via a deflection.
McCabe then produced an absolute rocket to level the scores in the 26th minute and added another five minutes later to put his side in front.
Mark Langtry levelled matters with five minutes left on the clock after wriggling through to poke home from close range.

With David O’Sullivan in fine form for John Finnegan’s side, Bray will provide Rovers with a real test. That game kicks off at noon.
Ciaran Kilduff has been the sensation of the opening three weeks of the pilot competition with a remarkable tally of 14 goals already to his name.
The second game of the day sees a young and improving Bohs outfit face a Monaghan United side looking for its first win of the campaign.
Alan Lynch has made a big impression for Richard Sutherland and Pat Malone’s Gypsies and his form could help maintain Bohs’ bid for a top four play-off spot. That game kicks off at 1.15pm.
After their first defeat of the campaign against Bohs last week, Drogheda will look to get their first victory when they face UCD in the day’s third fixture.
