Lithgow MercuryIndoor soccer play-offs are about to start The final round of Junior Futsal Soccer competition proved to be a thrilling round as the teams sorted themselves into final standings and eagerly await the semis and final's.
NOTE: Just a reminder to everyone, that all teams will play on both the remaining nights regardless if they are in the finals or not and every child will receive a trophy or medallion after each of the age group finals are played.
Results from last week's round is as follows:
UNDER 7:
Little Tazzie Devils def Red Devils 12-2
Little Rascals def Green Machines 10-0
Green Machines' Kye Wilson was good in defence with Emma Morris excellent in attack. William Richardson had a great game all over the court in attack and defence with great support from Zane and Cooper Anderson. Caleb Cosier had a terrific game defending in goals in the first half and had great attack in the second half.
UNDER 10
Terriers def Thunder Cats 9-3
The Cats had a hard game against a red hot Terriers side but never gave up and put in a tremendous effort.
Emily Clough and Alanna Tomazin played well together. Jarod Inzitari and Samuel Holy-Oak Miller created many chances and awesome skill was displayed by Josh Thurtell and Aiden Thompson
Junior Tazzie Devils def Strikers 5-4
Redbacks def Knights 12-1
Some impressive soccer was played by Lachlan Bury scoring a goal along with Nick Christofis who was again busy in defence aiming some great kicks down the court.
Goalkeepers Brandan Partridge and Tom Kennedy did a great job making some spectacular saves. Matthew Rhodes, Braydon Bury and Jared Simpson played well together up the front with some great passing and slotted away 10 goals between them.
Tom Kennedy scored a goal in the second half and Jared Simpson earned the Video Ezy award this week.
The Knights had a great game and have improved greatly this year, awards went to Charlie Siniawski for his goal this week and to Jack Wilson for his three goals last week. All the Knights played very well this week.
UNDER 12
Indooroos def Wildones 9-3
The Indooroos had a great match against a very much improved Wildones who put in a valiant effort. Tom Clough & Eli felton were fantastic in goals while Kodey Ribaux, Jeremy Featherstone and Chris Cummings gelled together and Nic Tomazin showed great skill. the boys are looking forward to the finals.
Wildones played Indooroos in what was a great game to watch. Wildones played well Ryan Bilby played in goals and done a great job.
Jack Bilby Jackson Welch, Matthew Platts and Jack Laing all played there little hearts out going down 9-3 just goes to show that the Indooroos are going to be the team to beat this competition. Wildones are getting better.
Jelly Beans def Warriors 10-6
It was all excitement for Jelly Beans's Elsea Siniawski this week scoring her first ever goal. Elsea has always been solid in defence and has now shown what she can do in attack. Joel Gurney put in a brilliant game scoring five goals along with Hayden Griffiths four. The Bender duo of Maddison and Harry once again helped their team to a 10-6 win by great work in goals
UNDER 14
All Stars def Soccer Rats 9-4
All Stars B Sheehan, B Cooper, J Ivers, defended well but Keegan Craig was fantastic in goals.
After a slow start the Soccer Rats kicked into gear coming from 4-0 down to be 4-3 at the break. All players stepped up to the mark with great combinations from Nick Bender and Michael Richardson, Jack Clough and Daniel Vought showed some great Futsal skills with some good defence from Beau Parker and Michael Sharp.
Tom Clough had is usual brilliant game in goals. The second half was just as great as the first with some great team work and individual skills on display.
Rebels def Vipers 13-0
Rebels' Jay Morris (3), Adam Healy (2), Daniel Hart (2), Peter Bourke (4), Ryan Gurney (1) and Zac Dowler (1) all scored great goals while Adam Bourke had a terrific match in goals.
Gers def Wizards 24-3
SENIOR MIXED ROUND 6:
Thistle def Reds United 11-9
The Reds had a very strong game despite not having two of their better players turn up on the night. A few easy goals for Thistle paved the way for their win. Great work once again from Chris Clough, Nikki Partridge, Annmarie and Mitch Tomazin, A big thank you to Michael Anderson for filling in.
Subway def Tazzie Devils 10-6
Dads Army def Coro Can Crushers 15-5
Aussie Battlers def Cougars 6-4
Rangers Cats def Goats 7-6
MisFits def Impy Hogs 6-5
After a long time coming the Misfits recorded there first win in round 6. A very close game with both team evenly matched the game coming down to the final seconds. Goals going to Jason Lewis, Paul Pate and James Houston.
