Futsal PlanetRTM To Introduce Futsal Reality TV ShowKUALA LUMPUR, March 29 (Bernama) -- Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) will introduce a reality television programme on futsal soon, said Deputy Information Minister Datuk Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
He said that in the programme, 16 teams with 12 players each would take part and four players would be dropped progressively until each team only had eight players left.
"Selection sessions will be held soon throughout the country, which will be conducted by coaches specially appointed for the purpose," he told a press conference after the launch of "Jaguh Futsal RTM" (RTM's futsal competition) by Information Minister Datuk Seri Zainuddin Maidin, here Wednesday night.
He said that the reality show would have 13 episodes and its format would be the same as the Jaguh Futsal RTM, which will have 16 teams from 14 states besides the Felda United and TM FC teams.
On the competition (Jaguh Futsal), he said that the response to it had been good with over 3,500 people registering for the selection sessions through the short-messaging-service (SMS) and RTM's website.
The winning team stands to take home RM30,000 while the runner up RM10,000. The tournament, which is being organised with the assistance of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), will last for four months.
