Stabroek NewsTucville Secondary carts off Chico Sweets/Smalta Futsal tourneyMonday, April 2nd 2007 Tucville Secondary School scored a lop-sided 4-0 victory over Dolphin Secondary School in the final of the Chico Sweets/Smalta Inter-Secondary School Futsal football tournament on Saturday evening at the National Gymnasium.
Fitzroy Weatherspoon booted home two goals whilst Kevon and Trevon Lythcott scored one goal each to heep Tucville Secondary School take home the winner's trophy.
In the third place, play-off, Queenstown Community High School defeated East Ruimveldt Secondary School 5-3.
In the exhibition matches, Guinness Bar lost to Courtney Benn Contracting Services; Freeburg and St.Mary's ended in a draw while Carmel Community High defeated Lodge Community High 4-3 to win the Trophy Stall Cup.
The presentation ceremony will be held when school re-opens.
Meanwhile, 24 players from the schools which participated in the tournament will be selected to make-up an under-18 team to participate in an international schoolboys Futsal tournament in Suriname from August 9-20.
The tournament will involve teams from Suriname, Guyana, French Guiana and Holland.
All players are asked to be present at the National Gymnasium tomorrow at 5pm for a meeting with coordinator James Lewis.
