World Champions expected in Tehran for two friendly matches

PFDC - TEHRAN, Futsal World Champions Spain will be in Tehran on April 23rd and 24th for two friendlies against Iran.

Both sides already met for two friendly matches in the end of December 2006 in Spain.

Iran impressively drew the first encounter by a score of 3-3 but lost the second one 5-2.

The Iranians, seven-time Asian champions, are treating these matches as preparation for the AFC Futsal Championship which will be played in Japan, where the hosts will defend their Asian title.

The tournament begins on May 13th.

Iran is currently ranked eight in the World Futsal Ranking while Spain is ranked second behind Italy.
