Brazil dreaming of Olympic glory . . .

Brazil dreaming of Olympic glory . . .

An article in Brazilian newspaper "O Globo" provides the following quotes. (See the original article at O Globo)

Head coach Fernando Ferretti: "It was first the great step for futsal to make inroads into the Olympics. It is, for us, a great satisfaction to see futsal in a multisport competition. This has been a dream of 50 years for the sport. Our victories and our title were
deserved because the Brazilian team was the most consistent throughout the competition."

Manoel Tobias: "Of all the world championships (1992 and 96) that I have, beyond the conquests of Liga Futsal, this medal today is the most important because an athlete cannot be living in the past. Futsal should come to the Pan American Games and the Olympics."

Fininho: "It was excellent to have played an Olympic-level match. This was a title that I did not have."

Vinícius: "It was good to be able to return to the team and to fit in in a new way. This match is our first step en route to the Olympics."

Indio: "Futsal has met the conditions for participation in the Olympics."
