UEFA.comDinamo hit form with doubleSunday, 22 April 2007Three of the UEFA Futsal Cup final four hosts won their last matches before this week's European deciders - but hosts ElPozo Murcia FS suffered a disappointing reverse.
Dinamo delightThe first of Thursday's semi-finals matches MFK Dinamo Moskva and Action 21 Charleroi, both teams who will be happy with their weekend's work. Dinamo have lost ground on Russian Super League leaders MFK VIZ-Sanara Ekaterinburg and also were pipped by that side in the Russian Cup final last week, but the reigning champions returned to winning ways with two derby victories at MFK Dina Moskva. Friday's encounter was close, with Dinamo hanging on for a 3-2 win in a game where all goals came in the last eleven minutes, Tatu, Olexiy Kudlay and Pavel Kobzar on target for the visitors. A day later Dinamo were more convincing, triumphing 6-0 as former Charleroi man Kelson struck a hat-trick and Aleksandr Rahimov, Tatu and Konstantin Maevsky also scored. As VIZ-Sinara were held twice at TTG-JAVA Yugorsk, Dinamo have closed the gap to one point and have two games in hand.
Charleroi runCharleroi's recent winning streak has taken them to the summit in Belgium and they made it eight league successes in a row on Friday as they overcame GDL Futsal Châtelet 6-2. The visitors did take an early lead but two Zico goals and one each from Saad Salhi and Lúcio Rosa put Charleroi 4-1 up at the break, and after the advantage was reduced Jhonny Van Melkebeke scored with two minutes left before Zico completed his treble. Action 21 remain a point clear of Forcom Antwerpen Elite and the reigning champions are now certain of their place in the four-team play-offs.
Boomerang aheadSpanish rivals Boomerang Interviú and Murcia come head to head in Thursday's other semi-final, and they had contrasting fortunes on Saturday. UEFA Futsal Cup holders Boomerang consolidated their league lead as they saw off FC Barcelona 4-2, Marquinho, Andreu, Neto and Edgar Bertoni all scoring before two late consolations. Boomerang are now four points clear of Polaris World Cartagena and seven ahead of third-placed Murcia, who lost 2-1 at PSG Móstoles. Bacaro Vinicius did give Murcia a half-time lead but Seco and Beto struck in the last six minutes. Both Boomerang and Murcia are assured of play-off places, however, and look likely to be seeded apart until the final.
