-> Hellenic Futsal Story

The play-offs began last night giving all home teams their first three points. Iniohos overcame Ethnikos Asteras 7-2, Athina ’90 beat Doukas 9-1, and Platon, bounced back from their defeat in the Cup on Wednesday, had no trouble taking on Ilioupoli 7-3.

Iniohos-Ethnikos Asteras 7-2 (3-1)
The home team continues their impressive year and looks to be in good shape coming into the play-offs. The game began with an early lead for Asteras but Iniohos closed the half with a 2 goal lead. Valantis Batsoulis scored three goals to give his team the important three points.

Athina ’90-Doukas 9-1 (2-0)
The game had a lot of tension since the two teams have unfinished business between them. The home team found resistance up until the half but the second half was a different story. Doukas will miss Lioutas, Vandoros, and Spyrou who saw red cards, making their play-off beginning, a nightmare. For the home team Arvanitis and Iliadis scored two goals each to lead the defending champions to their first victory.

Platon-Ilioupoli 7-3 (5-1)
Monday was a different story for Platon who found their rhythm and managed to turn a tough game into an easy afternoon. The home team found their tranquillity and stormed Ilioupoli leading 5-1 at halftime. Ilioupoli could not follow the tempo and had many turnovers, thus giving space to the Platon squad to dictate the game. Kouvaras and Kountardas scored two goals each to secure the win for Platon.

Play-offs day 2 (30/4/07)
Ethnikos Asteras – Platon
Ilioupoli – Athina ‘90
Doukas - Iniohos

For 7-10 places, results were:

Gerakas – Kosmos 9-12 (1-4)
Salamina – Minotavros 9-9 (3-5)
