National Futsal League launch

26th April 2007 – The First FAM-Figos National Club Futsal League will kick off in June where it will begin at the state-level before moving on to the grand final in Kuala Lumpur to decide the overall champion.

Dato’ Seri Dr. Ibrahim Saad, the general secretary of the FA of Malaysia (FAM) in announcing the national Futsal league alongside sponsors Figos, said that the league will be participated by all club teams all over Malaysia.

And for the first time too, the national Futsal league has been opened to both men and women’s team.

“Of late, there has been a growth in the futsal playing populace in the country and we hope that through the Futsal league, it will make the game a lot more organised,” said Dato’ Seri Ibrahim at the official launch at the Wisma FAM.

“We will be insisting that participating venues comply with FIFA ruling as far as the specifications of the courts are concerned.”

Figos, which also sponsor the Melaka state team and ATM in the Malaysian League, has also introduced attractive prizes for the participating teams.

For the women’s division, they will earn between RM 500 and RM 1,000 in product prizes for coming in fourth to first at the state final while for the grand final, they will earn between RM 500 to RM 4,000 in cash and prizes.

In the men’s division on the other hand, the winning team will earn between RM 1000 and RM 3,000 in product prizes for coming in third to first at the state final while for the grand final, they will earn between RM 1,000 to RM 10,000 in cash and prizes.
