Tuyyut FC claim top honours in PD


TUYYUT FC and Tandop City "A" booked their places in the Milo Hidup Bola Futsal Carnival Grand Finals as the top two teams in the third leg of the series at the Alam Mega Sports Arena in Port Dickson on Sunday.

The two were the best among 54 teams competing in Port Dickson and little separated them in the final, with Tuyyut eventually edging Tandop City "A" 2-1 to bag the title and the RM1,000 top prize.

The third place play-off was even closer, Minda Mahir FC beating Manzor Junior in a penalty shootout after the two teams were tied 3-3 at the end of regulation time.

Tuyyut FC and Tandop City "A" will feature in the Grand Finals on July 22 at Sports Planet, Ampang.

The winning teams also received Milo Hidup Bola commemorative futsal balls and a complete set of jerseys and balls from Figos, the official ball of the event.
Milo also took the initiative to organise a 45-minute coaching clinic followed by a friendly game between two Under-12 school teams as a curtain raiser before the final, in which Telok Kemang Primary School beat Lukut Primary School 2-1.

"We are very happy with the good response to this carnival now into its third of 14 legs, covering all states in Malaysia.

"I am confident all state entries will exceed our target which augurs well for the development of the sport," said Milo sports marketing and sponsorship manager Ng Ping Loong.

The next leg will be held at the Suria Indoor Soccer Centre in Kota Kinabalu on Saturday.
