The Star On LineEndorsement for futsal carnival The NFC and FAM believe the futsal carnival, dedicated to Under-16 teams, is an excellent platform to identify new talents. The carnival, with 14 legs held throughout the country, is also seen as an opportunity to promote healthy activities.
Nestle sports marketing manager Ng Ping Loong said they were impressed with the participation of teams in the carnival.
“We are also pleased with the active participation of parents. They become part of the team as coaches, kit-men and helpers. They also show their enthusiasm by cheering the teams. It is also interesting to see the players, coming from all walks of life, showing sportsmanship.
“The objective of the carnival was to provide opportunities to the youngsters to unleash their futsal skills, enjoy the atmosphere, promote good sporting values and make new friends through sports.
“We are also happy that the NFC and FAM have endorsed the carnival. The FAM have also indicated that they would be sending their coaches to scout for new talents,” said Ng after giving the prizes to the winning team at the third leg in Port Dickson recently.
A total of 54 teams took part in the carnival, held at the newly constructed Alam Megah Sports Arena. The number of teams had exceeded the targeted 48 and there were teams from Kelantan and Johor as well.
