Rovers seal Futsal trophy

Shamrock Rovers lifted the inaugural FAI Under-21 Fustal League trophy after coming from behind to defeat UCD in Sunday’s final.

The Hoops claimed an early lead through Ciaran Kilduff but were behind at the break following two goals from College youngster Fran Moran.

UCD pressed for a third, with hat-trick-seeking Moran seeing one effort strike the Rovers bar before Rovers keeper John Perkins brilliantly saved a Greg Bolger penalty.

The sides were level within a minute, Kilduff firing his second goal of the game, before Mark Langtry gave Rovers the lead for the second time four minutes later.

David Vickery sealed the win with the Hoops’ fourth before the finish and Rovers held on to lift the first Under-21 Fustal League crown.
