The Hungarian Championship First Round finished on 23 April, the play-off begins today, 7 May, with the best 4 teams.
In the semi-finals (best of 3 wins) last years’ champion Gödöllő will play Mezei-Vill of Berettyóújfalu. In January a new coach, the Portuguese José Alberto Gerardo Rosa (former Benfica and Sporting trainer) arrived to Gödöllő and he began to teach absolutely new tactics with the players. By that time the first place of the first stage was guaranteed for Gödöllő, therefore Mr. Rosa began heavy physical trainings with the players, who lost 3 of the last 4 championship matches. But play-off will be different – says Mr. Rosa, who promises a brand new, fantastic Gödöllő team performance for the semi-finals. The Bulls – the nickname of Gödöllő – won’t have an easy task, because Mezei-Vill is a good team with a lot of talented, international players, so it’s going to be an interesting battle.
Such as the other semi-final between Cső-Montage and Kanárik. Both teams have a long unbeaten run in the championship: Cső-Montage haven’t lost for six games, but Kanárik have an even longer run: they suffered their last defeat back in January (against Cső-Montage), since then they played 13 games without any single defeat. Cső-Montage finished second, Kanárik third in the First Round, so Cső can play the first and (if necessary) the third game of the semi-finals at home.
