Yaiskul drub Dimapur Road

Imphal, May 11: Yaiskul Athletics Club drubbed Dimapur Road Athletics Organisation 4-1 on the opening day of the Nungshirabi Leikol and Aircel futsal meet at Imphal Polo ground today.

In another match, Kangchup Road Youth Physical and Sporting Association got the better of Manipur Brothers Sporting Union 6-3.

The futsal game, considered for skill and speed with five men a side, saw Yaiskul Athletic Club today beat the Dimapur Road team on a slippery field.

For Yaiskul, Nanao scored two goals while Premkumar and Lukhoi contributed with a goal each. The lone goal for Dimapur Road was scored by I. Sanatomba.

In the other match, Kanchup Road overcame Manipur Brothers by three goals with Kh. Boicha netting two goals while L. Ramananda, S. Bhogen, I. Nilachandra and S. Kishan picked up one each for the win. For Kanchup Road, Biswajit scored two goals while Surchand netted one.

KRYPSA, YAC win in Futsal football

IMPHAL, May 11: KRYPSA and YAC won their league matches in the ongoing Airtel Imphal West Futsal football tourney 2007 orgd by Imphal West District Football Assn held at Mapal Kangjeibung kicked off today.

In the opening match, KRYPSA of Naoremthong beat MBSU of Wahengbam leikai by 6-3 goals. KRYPSA goal scorers were Kh Bocha with two goals in the 3rd and 23rd minute, L Ramananda in 7th minute, S Bhogendro in the 19th minute, I Nilachandra in the 33rd minute and S Kishan in the 35th minute. While for MBSU Bishwajit scored two goals and Surchand in the 36th minute of the play. The referee awarded a yellow card to Y Rajen of KRYPSA in the 33rd minute of the play.

In another match, YAC of Yaiskul beat DM Rao of Awang Sekmai by 4-1 goals. Nanao scored two goals in the 6th and 27th minute and Premkumar and Lukhoi one eash in the in the 25th minute and the 28th minute respectively. Referee S Suresh awarded one yellow card to Nanao of YAC in 13th mintue of the play.

For this tournament, the organising committee has decided to increase the prizes money. Winner will receive Rs. 5,000/-, runner Rs. 3,000/-, all the participating teams Rs. 1,000 each. The prizes are sponsored by Airtel. The Best player prize of Rs. 500/- is donated by K Luwangbi of Mapal Kangjeibung and that of highest scorer of Rs. 500/- by H Megha, executive member of IWDFA.

Airtel FUTSAL Cup begins

Imphal, May 11: KRYP-SA, Naoremthong and YAC, Yaiskul scripted convincing victories in the 1st Airtel FUTSAL Cup tournament which began at Mapal Kangjeibung today. While the Naoremthong side slammed six goals past MBSU, Wahengbam Leikai against three by the latter, YAC carved out a comfortable 4-1 victory against DMRAO, Sekmai. Kh Bocha scored two in the KRYPSA win as L Ramananda, S Bhogen, I Nilachandra and S Kishan found the MBSU net on one occasion each.

Bishorjit (2) and Surchand reduced the loss margin for the Wahengbam Leikai side. In the YAC versus DMRAO clash, Nanao scored two goals while Premkumar and Luthoi added one apiece in the team’s win.

I Sanatomba scored the losers’ consolation goal. Opening ceremony of the tournament being organised by Imphal West District Football Association was held with Keishamthong AC MLA L Jayentakumar Singh and president of the hosts H Nabakumar Singh as the chief guest and president respectively. Chief Manager of Airtel Relationship Centre A Bipinchandra and G Dayabati Devi, head mistress of the tournament co-sponsor Nungshirabi Leikol Child Development School, Uripok graced the occasion as the guests of honour. Five teams are competing in the tournament.
