Thailand blank Kuwait in opener

ASIAN FUTSAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Thailand got off to a good start in the AFC Asian Futsal Championship yesterday when they thrashed Kuwait 8-0 at Osaka stadium in Japan. The Thai side moved into a 4-0 lead by half-time and added another four after the interval.

On target for Thailand were Prasert Innui (2), Anucha Munjaroen (2), Lertchai Issarasuwipakorn, Sermphan Kumthinkaew, Panuwat Jantha and Ekapong Suratsawang.

Thai coach Pattaya Piemkum said he was pleased with his team's performaance. ''Everything went according to plan, although we need to tighten up our defence,'' he said.

Thailand will take on Iraq today
