Mikael Bourdarad - Futsal Spirit MagazineAfter obtaining their first ever victory in the second match against the Democratic Republic of Congo in Nimes in last March, the AMF team of France was invited by Catalonia for two friendly games.
The European vice-champions are training for the next World Championship in Argentina (September 2007), while French side is looking for the next Eurofutsal championship in Belgium (April 2008).
Surprising but true: France, guided by head coach Julien Nepoty, got a great victory in the first battle in Santa Coloma de Queralt (4-3). Catalonia took its "revenge" in the second match played in Mora Nova (5-3), with 400 futsal fans attending the interesting challenge.
With an age average lower than 24 years, the UNCFs France experienced a great progress in 4 matches and is looking for Eurofutsal 2008 with great expectations. Good sports services and organization should make futsal development possible in France, considering the weak support of FFF (French Federation of Futsal), with the exception of events with soccer stars who are supposed to show what futsal is!!??
