Hungarian Championship Final 1st game

Title holders Gödöllo (they beat Mezei-Vill int he semi-finals in 3 games) and this year’s cup finalsts Kanárik (who beat Csõ-Montage in 2 games) play the final of the 2006-2007 Hungarian Futsal Championships, with the first of the of five matches series beeing played on Monday 21st May in Gödöllõ.

Surprisingly Kanárik took advantage after only 23 seconds thanks to a goal from Gusztáv Nyári. José Alberto Gerardo Rosa’s teams’ situation became even worse in the 8th minute, when goalkeeper Gyula Tóth was sent off. Gödöllõ had a few opportunities in the following minutes, but they could only equalize in the 13th minute with a perfect László Berkes' shot.
Only 2 minutes later the home side took advantage thanks to their captain Tamás Szente, his goal was followed only 12 seconds later by a strike from the Brazilian Jackes Gil.
Before half time Kanárik could get one back, Péter Simon scored after the 6th foul of Gödöllõ from 10 metres.

In the second half both teams had their opportunities but only Kanárik could score: Mihály Semsei’s goal made it 3-3, a 2x5 minute extra time was to come.
In the extra time Gödöllõ capitalised the experience and the better stamina of the players: last year’s champion scored 3 goals in the second 5 minutes – 2 from Szente and 1 from Madarász, so Gödöllõ won 6-3 and took a 1-0 lead in the best of five series.
The second game of the final will be played next Monday (28 May).
