Brothers face Sena in final today

Imphal, June 1: Manipur Brothers Sporting Union will clash with Sena Athletics Organisation in the final of the 1st Inter-District Futsal Cup at Manipur University ground tomorrow.

In an exciting semifinal today, Sena Athletics Organisation overcame Panchai through a tie-breaker after both teams were locked 6-6 in the stipulated time.

Earlier in the match, Surash scored four goals, while Langanand and Mothawar added one goal each for Panchai. But Sena came back strongly, with Matum firing in three goals, while Dhanakumar, Sandeep and Bikash netted one each to level the scores.

As the game moved into a tie-breaker, Sena prevailed with Matum, Kanta, Dhanakumar and Govind converting their penalty kicks. For the Panchai team, only Surash and J.S. Warthan Anal managed to score.

In the second semifinal today, Manipur Brothers Sporting Union pipped Friendship Sporting Club 7-5. For MBSU, Surchand led the score with four goals, while Boipu added two and Dhanajit fired in one to bag the match.

Joseph Khonsai and T. Thomas Zou scored two goals, while Nanao netted one for the Friendship team.
