New Straits TimesTaman Aman win 9th leg in Alor StarTAMAN Aman FC edged Kelab Remaja TNB 3-2 to win the 9th leg of the Milo Hidup Bola Futsal Carnival at the Alor Star Sports Planet in Alor Star over the weekend.
The finalists will now play in the Grand Finals at the Sports Planet Ampang in Selangor on July 22.
Sports Science FC beat Joga Bonito FC 3-1 for third placing in the tournament which attracted a record 64 teams, surpassing the target of 48.
The top four teams went home with prize money of RM1000, RM800, RM600 and RM500 respectively.
They also received Milo Hidup Bola commemorative futsal balls, a set of jerseys and balls from Figos, the official ball for the event.
A 45-minute coaching clinic followed by a friendly match between two invited Under-12 Invitational schools — Taman Satria Football Academy and Taman Teratai Football Academy — preceded the main event.
Taman Satria won 1-0. Both teams received Milo medals and hampers.
According to Ng Ping Loong, Sports Marketing Manager of Milo, the response for the remaining five legs has been overwhelming.
"I appeal to teams to register early to avoid disappointment," he said.
The 10th leg will be held at Safira Sports Planet, Seberang Jaya, Penang this Saturday. Entry fee is RM50 per team.
