Press release by FC White Bear club

FC White Bear warmed up for the forthcoming F.A Futsal Nationals with an impressive win over the England National Team at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.

White Bear got off to the best possible start as they scored twice within the first 3 minutes. The first goal came from a bad England mistake where their player appeared to trip over the ball in the front of his goal and quick thinking from White Bears Alexandr Gerchioglo capitalised on the mistake and set-up Anatoliy Borisov for the opener. The second goal was scored by Alexandr Gerchioglo with a good finish from a tight angle. Within the next 5 minutes the lead was now 3 – 0 to the team from London, as Vitaliy Lungu scored from close range.

For the next ten minutes White Bear limited England to long range shots and defended well and nearly catching them on the break several times. Just before half time White Bear scored again with a brilliant passing movement eventually finished by Maxim Voloshin. So at half –time FC White Bear were winning 4 – 0.

The second half started and England seemed more determined and their energetic non-stop running earned them a goal from a misunderstanding in the White Bear team. White Bear replied near enough immediately as Alexandr Gerchioglo scored with another precise finish. The second half was similar to the first as White Bear continued to control the game and limited England to long distance shots. England had one opportunity but a string of brilliant saves from goalkeeper Denis Criuchkov. White Bear should have furthered their lead as coach Olexandr Saliy made several changes. The changes produced some good chances from Danny Hanson and Majid Saidani.

Georgi Salagishvili scored with an emphatic finish with five minutes to go. Georgi Salagishvili received the ball just inside the England half and took a couple of paces and smashed the ball past the stunned England goalkeeper. The remainder of the game White Bear continued to change the team around and created one last goal from Oleg Pastyh, with a low shot from the edge of the area that England keeper had no chance with. This capped off a successful night for London White Bear who go into the F.A Futsal nationals in July in good spirit.
