Chippenham through to finals

CHIPPENHAM Futsal Club, winners of the inaugural Wiltshire County League, competed in the first qualifying round of the FA National Futsal Cup against The Untouchables from Cornwall.

Despite conceding an early goal the team responded by scoring 10 goals to lead 10-3 at half-time. The second-half was much closer, with Chippenham emerging 15-5 winners.

They now go forward to the second qualifying round on Sunday in Birmingham where they will play a round-robin format against Loughborough Students, Harpole FC and Sporting Shropshire. The winners will go to the national finals in July as one of 16 teams competing to be English champions and to represent England in the UEFA Futsal Cup.
