Thanh Nien NewsThai teams make it 1-2 at HCMC Futsal Open The Ho Chi Minh City Futsal Open tournament wrapped up Saturday with Thai teams grabbing the top two places with impressive performances.
Chonburi won the title and a cash prize of US$5,000 on better goal difference, and TOT took home the silver medal.
Host Ho Chi Minh City finished fourth behind Hanoi.
In the opening round, TOT beat HCMC 6-2, and Chonburi thumped Hanoi 9-3.
In the next rounds, HCMC lost 2-6 to Hanoi and the two Thai teams drew 2-2, before Chonburi crushed HCMC 7-1 and TOT edged Hanoi 7-5.
A consolation prize for the host nation came in the form of the Player of the Tournament award for Le Huu Tri of Hanoi.
The tourney was held at the Phu Tho sports house on June 14-16.
