MFA vice-president denies he has resigned

MFA vice-president John Farrugia yesterday categorically denied that he had resigned from his post at the Malta Football Association.

Contacted yesterday, he also told The Malta Independent that rumours that he did not intend contesting the MFA elections next month were also untrue.

Rumours spread around on Sunday evening and yesterday morning that Farrugia had tendered his resignation.

As one of the three vice-presidents, Farrugia occupies a seat on the association’s Executive Committee and also holds various other important posts.

In fact, he is a deputy chairman of the Football Development Committee and is the chairman of the Women’s Football Committee and the Futsal Committee. He is also one of the association’s representatives on the Maltese Olympic Committee.

Farrugia is also a member of the FIFA Appeals Committee.
