32 battle for top prize

THE cream of the crop will assemble at the Sports Planet Futsal Centre in Ampang, Selangor on Sunday for the Milo Hidup Bola Futsal Grand Finals.

From a record 1,200 teams which competed in the 14 legs held nationwide, 32 will battle for the top prize of RM5,000.

The second, third and fourth placed teams will receive RM3,000, RM2,000 and RM1,000 respectively along with trophies, medals and Milo products.

Milo Sports Marketing manager Ng Ping Loong (pic) said the Hidup Bola carnival had proven to be a resounding success.

"This year’s entries were far more than last year’s and what made it better is that many of the teams were formed by residents associations, football academies and schools.

"This augurs well for the development of futsal at the grassroots," said Ping Loong.

Besides the main action, an Under-12 boys and women’s open — both limited to 24 teams — will also be held.

Sports Commissioner Tan Sri Elyas Omar will present the medals.

The Milo Hidup Bola carnival is supported by the FA of Malaysia and National Fitness Council.
