Bahamas Football Association President Anton Sealey was recently
appointed a Member of the FIFA Futsal and Beach Soccer
Committee for the period 2007-2011. The appointment marks the first time that a Bahamian has been named to a FIFA Standing Committee.

“It is a tremendous honor for the Bahamas and Bahamian football,” said BFA General Secretary Lionel Haven. “The appointment speaks volumes about the work being done here and of FIFA’s respect for our Association and our President.”

Sealey joins the FIFA committee after having served as Chairman of the CONCACAF Beach Soccer Committee for the past two terms.
The Committee is chaired by Ricardo Terra Teixeira of Brazil, with Marios Lefkaritis of Cyprus as the Deputy Chairman. The Futsal
and Beach Soccer Committee organizes the FIFA Futsal World
Championship and the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, oversees the Futsal Laws of the Game and addresses all issues relating to futsal and beach soccer in general.
