Ginga topples Vipers

NORTH West Academy, a team of Altona and Keilor Park players, recently won the 2006-07 Victorian Academies Futsal (indoor soccer) Competition.

North West went through the season undefeated and had two players selected to compete in the Football Federation Victoria State Futsal Championships.

Rodrigo Covarrubias and Luis Bulboa represented Ginga, progressing to the state final, where the team toppled the Vic Vipers 6-3.

They competed against Stonnington Eagles, Bairnsdale Soccer Club, Northern FC, Brunswick Zebras, Doncaster Rovers, Amigos, Stallions and Riverplate Amigos.

Covarrubias and Bulboa, from Altona Magic and Keilor Park soccer clubs respectively, have now put their names up for selection in the state team for the Australian Futsal Championships in Canberra in January.
