19/08/2007 Russian shock
Surprising and shocking news from Russia. The national Superleague could lose one of its main and historical characters as Spartak Moscow seems to have the intention to leave it. Everything started with the departures of Gorin and Tveryankin (both players in the meanwhile signed for other clubs) at the beginning of the past season, from this point began a legal "fight" between Spartak and the disputes resolution chamber, which condemned Spartak to pay both players until the end of the season, though they had already left the Moscow club. As a final "punishment" Spartak was not allowed to sign new players for the 2007/2008 season: after this statement the Evgeny Lovchev club communicated to AMFR its intention to leave the Superleague. Spartak should have started its new season in Tyumen, for the first round couple of matches vs MFK Tyumen, but they didn't play. Everything is still possible anyway, as discussions are going on in Russia. Losing a club like Spartak would definitely be a serious problem for the russian Superleague. Stay on line and you'll know the end of the history...
