North East England Under 16s Futsal CupMiddlesbrough Futsal Club are calling for futsal aficionados to take part in the North East England Under 16s Futsal Cup. Organised as part of the “Passionate People, Passionate Places” campaign, the tournament will kick start Boro’s involvement with the North East England campaign, which will see the club display the North East England logo proudly at matches and on the club website.
Futsal is the 5-a-side indoor game that is recognised and supported by FIFA and UEFA and helped to hone the talents of legends such as Juninho, Ronaldo and Pele. Now Middlesbrough Futsal Club is inviting teams to take part in a tournament for the chance to showboat their futsal skills and support the North East England campaign.
Event organiser Damon Shaw is calling for Under 16s teams from football clubs, schools, organisations or other youth groups. “No previous futsal experience is necessary, as this tournament will serve to introduce the fast, skilful game to over 100 children. It’s been part of our plan since we began to get futsal into the community and this tournament will see the start our commitment to developing junior futsal in the area.”
The tournament takes place on Saturday 15th September 9am – 7pm, in the Olympia Sports Hall at the University of Teesside, with teams arranged into groups of four that will play each other for the championship. Lunch will be provided my Middlesbrough Futsal Club and there will also be a goody bag for each participant.
For more information about the event or to sign up to take part, visit www.BoroFutsal.co.uk where you’ll find the official entry form. Don’t hesitate though as there are a maximum of 16 teams and entry will be on a first come first served basis.
