Men’s Futsal team represents the Shire in flying colours

The Sutherland Shire Futsal Association Incorporated has recently entered for the first time in its short history its Men’s Futsal representative team in an invitational competition hosted by the Northern Beaches Futsal Association at the Sydney Academy of Sport – Narrabeen 8th & 9th September 2007.

The players all of whom play Futsal locally represented the Shire with flying colours winning all 4 games, topping their group. This result put them in the semi final against favourites Northern Beaches Futsal men’s team. The boys from the Shire beat teams who normally play in the Football NSW Futsal Premier & Super League Competitions. The semi final match was a keenly fought game of halves with Northern Beaches wining 4 – 0 at half time, the Shire Futsal team pegged the score line back with a sterling performance in the second half to 4 – 4 with 1 minute to go and unfortunately the Northern Beaches team scored making the final result 5 – 4. The Sutherland Shire Futsal Association is very proud of this achievement and extends its thanks to the players, coaching staff, supporters and organisers of the event
