Soccer FLAInternational Futsal Tournament in TampaThe Florida Futsal and Soccer Association will be coordinating the 5th Annual “CUP OF DREAMS” Futsal Cup in Tampa, Florida on February 9-10, 2008 at several middle and high school locations throughout the greater Tampa Bay area.
The “CUP OF DREAMS” Futsal Cup will be for boys’ teams between the ages of 11 to 18 years old with four age groups: Under 12, Under 14, Under 16, and Under 18. The “CUP OF DREAMS” Futsal Cup is sanctioned by the US Court Soccer Federation. Futsal is played throughout the world and was made famous in Brazil by such soccer greats as Pele, Zico, Ronaldinho, Kaka, and Ronaldo. Futsal, indoor soccer without the use of walls, is a great skill developer, demanding quick reflexes, fast thinking, and pin-point passing. “I played Futsal growing up.”, Pele said. “In Futsal you need to think and play quick so it is easier for you when you play outdoor soccer.”
Teams are guaranteed three to four games (40 minute games). Team entry fee is $210.00 and $20.00 registration fee, per player, which covers a one year membership to the Florida Futsal and Soccer Assocation (FFSA), US Court Soccer Federation (USCSF), and Associacion Mundial de Futsal (AMF). Players will receive a free tournament t-shirt and team trophies for first and second place teams.
Experience Futsal first hand as teams will compete against Brazilian youth teams and teams from throughout Florida. Interested teams may register online at www.tampasoccerandfutsal.com
