The Orange Crushers benefited from the Strykers' stellar defense and their own overpowering offense to take sole possession of first place in the 2007 GFA Bud Light Women's Futsal League yesterday at the Guam sports complex gym in Harmon.
Heather Thompson and Simie Willter both scored twice to lead the Crushers to a 6-2 win over team Quality. Ales McGordy and Anjelica Perez rounded out the scoring for the new league leaders.
For Quality, Vanessa Quinata and Sarah Pleadwell scored goals.
Earlier in the day, the Strykers allowed previously unbeaten Hyundai only a single goal on the way to victory -- and that was on own goal.
Aubrey Posadas and Rhoda Bamba both found the net to earn the Strykers a 2-1 victory.
Other games yesterday:
Bombers 3, Guahan.com 3: Karrie Irwin, Sara Roberts and Taylor Marquez scored for the Bombers. Guahan.com got goals from Susan Lupola, Jeanann Artero and Charrisse Bolabola.
PacifiCare Tigers 2, Shipyard 1: Sylvia Mesa's score, plus an own goal by Shipyard earned the Tigers a 2-1 victory.
Ginalynn Naburn scored for Shipyard.
