Javi Rodríguez equalled Julio's record of 115 Spain futsal caps in last night's 5-0 friendly win against Uzbekistan - and is set to claim the outright mark when the teams play against tonight.

Honours
The 33-year-old FC Barcelona player had won all his previous caps under Javier Lozano but wrote his name into the roll of honour in the debut game for new coach José Venancio. He has won two UEFA European Futsal Championships and two FIFA Futsal World Cups for Spain, and in the 2004 global competition in Chinese Taipei took the Silver Ball as second best player of the tournament. Rodríguez and Spain aim for a third continental title from 16-25 November in Porto.
