UEFA.comGyulambaryan wins Golden ShoeThursday 13 September 2007FC Adana Yerevan may have missed out on this season's UEFA Futsal Cup but Armen Gyulambaryan is celebrating after being awarded the 2006/07 European Futsal Golden Shoe by futsalplanet.com for the third time in four years.
Century of goalsIn a competition based on football's ESM Golden Shoe, the standings are decided by goals scored in last season's domestic top divisions, with leagues rated between 1.0 and 2.0 per goal depending on their relative strength and the number of matches played. Gyulambaryan, previously the leading marksman in 2003/04 and 2004/05, scored an incredible 129 goals in the 20-game Armenian Premiere League as Adana finished second behind FC Politekhnik Yerevan. His 2006/07 total was 61 goals greater than any other – and more importantly Gyulambaryan's points tally of 129 left him 33.8 clear of second-placed Nazmi Jakupi, whose 68 strikes for Elita Tetovo of F.Y.R. Macedonia were worth 1.4 points each.
Betinho thirdIn third place was the 2005/06 winner Betinho of Belgium's PB Morlanwelz, who registered 49 goals for 88.2 points. It kept up the Belgian league's good record in the competition as TLR Atwerpen 2000's Edwin Grunholz was the inaugural 2002/03 winner. The highest-placed player involved in this season's UEFA Futsal Cup was Ricardinho of Portuguese champions SL Benfica, fifth after recording 39 goals for 78 points. To see the full standings,
