Malta FootballMoldova beats Malta in friendlyMoldova beat a spirited Maltese side by three clear first half goals in a friendly international futsal game which was played at the AS Hibernians Sports Pavilion at Corradino.
Strikes by Iaroslav Subbostin (2') and skipper Olge Hiloti (10', 15') asserted the Moldovan superiority in an interesting encounter played in front of a sizeable crowd.
Michael Striz's side played a cautious game but found it hard to penetrate the more experienced opposing quintette. The best chance fell on Nicky Bilocca who missed a sitter just before the interval.
Nevertheless, it was a worthwhile workout for Malta's Futsal team ahead of the more important competitive commitments ahead.
The match was well controlled by the Maltese officials, Alex Arena and Norman Vella.
