Malta FootballFutsal national team plays friendly match in Czech RepublicPlaying against the Czech Republic, ranked fourth in Europe, the Malta national futsal team suffered an 11-0 defeat in a friendly match on Friday. This was the first in a series of three friendlies which will be played in the Czech Republic over the weekend.
Despite the defeat, it was still a good work-out and a good experience for the Maltese players against highly-talented opposition. The hosts scored seven in the first half. After the break, the Maltese improved, defending well and creating good scoring chances. Malta goalie Benny Gialanze also managed to save a penalty.
These matches are part of a programme of preparation Malta's coach Michal Stritz has planned for the Futsal National Team in view of future competitive commitments.
