Big Response For Brunei Futsal Meet

Bandar Seri Begawan - More than 50 teams have confirmed their participation in the 1st Brunei Futsal Tournament Terbuka 2007 and many more are expected to take part.

This was revealed by Lt Colonel (Rtd) Pg Mohamad Noor, the tournament director in the first technical briefing for the meet at the Lecture Theatre of Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium yesterday morning.

Some 80 percent of the rules and regulations have been finalised and the meeting served to inform participating teams on the updates and to answer any queries.

Hj Mohd Yunos bin Hj Mohd Yusof, the President of the Association of Brunei Darussalam Futsal Referees and Secretary General Awang Bakri bin Hj Bintang gave a briefing on the technical side of the tournament.

They touched on the format of the tournament which will start from the group stage and then proceed to the knockout round.

The 1st Brunei Futsal Tournament will commence from Nov 30 until Dec 23 at the Multi- Purpose Hall, Berakas.

The deadline for registration is Nov 20 and for details contact 8170300.

The tournament is organised by Event Management Anati in collaboration with Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport and BAFA. The main sponsors of the event are Adinin Groups of Companies, Jocon Contractor, Mim Sdn Bhd, Noorana Enterprise and Malawaring Enterprise. Another briefing will be held on Nov 11 at loam in the Lecture Theatre of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.
