As reported yesterday by
CBF, the
2008 World Futsal Cup to take place in Brazil will be played since October 1st to 19th. During the press conference held in Rio de Janeiro were also confirmed the hosting cities (already announced some weeks ago), with Brasília, Jaraguá do Sul and Rio de Janeiro as three venues of the prestigious event.
At the presence of CBF and FIFA Futsal Committee president
Ricardo Teixeira, together with the CBFS president
Aecio de Borba Vasconcelos and the Futsal World Cup Organizing Committee manager
Hideraldo Martins was also confirmed the increase (decided on past October 29th) of participant countries from 16 to 20, in the final stage of the tournament.
Finally, was communicated that after the end of the Beach Soccer World Champs in Rio de Janeiro, final inspections in Brasilia and Jaragŕ do Sul (between November 12 and 15) will be staged for a definitive confirmation of both cities as hosting venues, with Rio de Janeiro already sure to be in the hosting trio.
